Do Positive Affirmations REALLY work ???
In short, the answer is "yes" but only when they are done correctly. First of all, an affirmation is a "statement of the existence or truth of something." If you don't believe what you are affirming then you are incongruent with your mindset and those feelings of conflict lead to negative thoughts. But when done correctly, they can transform your life. There is MRI evidence that suggests that certain neural pathways are increased when people practice self-affirmation tasks. There are also countless testimonies of this reality. The truth is, this is a free effective way to initiate an idea, new way of thinking or living that starts within that will eventually appear externally. The book Power of Your Subconscious Mind is an eye-opening book for those who are doubtful or unaware. I highly recommend it !!

Why I decided to start blogging, you should too
Wow 15 years!!! I can't believe that much time has gone by since I first posted something on my blog. It seems like a lifetime of events have transpired since then. Defintley too many to list in a single post. The main reason I have decided to begin again is because I've learned a whole lot in that time and I've also learned that most successful people keep a journal and this is a type of journal for me. I have personally embarked on a mission to better myself, physically, spritually, emotionally and financially. I also believe that anything that is worthwhile, is worth documenting and that's what I am doing. Hopefully my journey can help inspire someone who may have similar thoughts or experiences. See ya soon! In the meantime, watch this for some motivation.

Do you Respond or React?
Along the journey of building a business and growing personally, I have observed a not-so common quality that is probably the most important not only in business but in life as well. That quality is emotional maturity. As adults we consider ourselves mature because have responsibilities or we don't necessarily act "childish." These things don't really prove we are mature emotionally. How we handle uncomfortable situations shows us our tipping point. How do you handle when you have been treated unfairly or when someone has clearly wronged you? Human nature is to immediately react and go into "protect and preserve" mode. There is nothing wrong with wanting to protect yourself but there is also nothing wrong with taking a moment to understand the situation and take the emotion out of it and respond only after thinking everything through, including the affects of your actions or words. Many regrettable situations have been created because of irrational reactions instead of thoughtful responses. The next time you encounter an opportunity to go from "0 to 100" real quick, try to curtail the emotion even if you're justified, and observe what happens. If nothing else, the quality of your own life will improve because in the end, no one is more damaged from our own anger than ourselves! This free book may help
